Children's Rooms
What can I say, children can be your best critics or your worst (that's not the right yellow for Sponge Bob)!
When I am commissioned to paint a child's room it's always best if I can sit and have a chat with the child and the parents, the ideas they can come up with are always surprising. From this we can arrive at a happy medium.
Are you painting the room for your children or yourselves? This is some times a dilemma. Characters age, but some just keep on going. You can design a room that could stay in keeping from 3 to 12 years old. If you're after a theme in date, then expect it to be out of date a year later.
I enjoy painting children's rooms, but believe me its not just a case of a character on a wall! You have to incorporate it into the colour scheme, room for change, the right theme , a year or three down the line a few character changes and you're bang up to date again.
Great fun!
